Drone Safety Practical Scenario (6.06.26), Kyiv

FPV DRONE SAFETY is a specialized 5-6-hour training program focused on understanding threats posed by FPV drones and other UAVs, as well as developing practical skills for effective detection and response.

The program combines theoretical modules on identifying UAV threats with a hands-on practical session dedicated to reacting during a simulated drone attack.

We encourage media professionals to apply who:

• Have at least two (2) years of professional experience covering the Ukrainian-Russian conflict for local and/or international press;
• Are currently working in high-risk or conflict-affected areas or are planning to travel to such areas;
• Are employees of Ukrainian media organizations or freelancers.

Training Structure 

1. Theoretical Module Types of UAV threats and ways to detect them

Participants will learn:

• types of threats posed by UAVs, including FPV drones
• methods for identifying each type of threat
• available technical tools for detection
• capabilities, limitations, and practical usage of detection devices in various environments

2. Theoretical Module Threat response scenarios

This module covers:

• action plans and response timelines for different UAV threats
• decision-making depending on terrain and circumstances
• assessing threat dynamics
• selecting effective response strategies under pressure

3. Practical Module

The module is dedicated to practical training in field response to drone threats. Participants are introduced to several types of drone detectors, studying their design features, operating principles, and differences between them.
