The event will bring together unique speakers: New York University Associate Professor Lauren Walsh and Pulitzer Prize laureate Evgeniy Maloletka.
About the Event
The current media landscape in Ukraine presents unprecedented challenges for journalists. Reporters, producers, podcasters, editors, and visual journalists face unique risks and obstacles daily. During the meeting, the speakers will share the results of a new survey on the impact of the profession on the mental health of journalists and discuss practical strategies for maintaining mental health.

Dr. Lauren Walsh: Associate Professor at New York University, expert in media literacy and ethical practices in photography. Leads the Lost Rolls America project and the Gallatin Photojournalism Lab. Specializes in conflict photography and peace journalism. Recipient of the “Gallatin’s Excellence in Teaching Award” (2017). Author of “Through the Lens: The Pandemic and Black Lives Matter” and “Conversations on Conflict Photography.”
Evgeniy Maloletka: Ukrainian Associated Press photographer and Pulitzer Prize laureate. Winner of the World Press Photo of the Year 2023. Author of historical photographs from the initial days of the Russian invasion of Mariupol. Winner of the 2023 Oscar for Best Documentary Feature Film for “20 Days in Mariupol.
