Daily Humanity has received research results from the Razumkov Center showing how war news affects the emotional state and mental health of Ukrainian citizens. We commissioned this research and developed its design together with New York University professor Lauren Walsh as part of the Mental Resilience Program.
As part of the Mental Resilience Program, we aim to understand how war news affects Ukrainian citizens. It is known that constant consumption of distressing news can have a negative impact on emotional well-being, so we decided to investigate how war coverage specifically affects citizens’ mental state, particularly anxiety, stress, and hope.
Daily Humanity will use the collected data to develop mental health support recommendations for media professionals working in hostile environments or high-risk settings. These will help us create strategies for media to reduce the negative impact of news on people’s mental health and support their emotional well-being.
