Safe&Sane: Conference on Psychological Resilience for Media Professionals Foundation 

2402 Foundation (Daily Humanity) organizes the Safe&Sane conference, aimed at developing a culture of psychological support for journalists during wartime.

Why is this important?

During the full-scale war, Ukrainian media professionals face traumatic experiences and elevated stress levels daily. The Safe&Sane conference creates a space for sharing experiences and developing effective psychological support strategies in the media sphere. The event will bring together media representatives, psychologists, trainers, and international experts to discuss current issues of journalist safety and the profession’s impact on mental health.

Program includes:

  • Workshops by leading experts in mental health, security, conflict resolution, and media development
  • Presentation of Research Findings on the Impact of the Journalism Profession on Mental Health, conducted by Professor Lauren Walsh from New York University.
  • Presentation of Research Findings on the Influence of News on the Mental Health of Ukrainians, in collaboration with a representative of the Razumkov Centre for Economic and Political Studies.
  • Trauma-informed leadership training by DART Center for Trauma and Journalism, a research center within Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, USA
  • Evening discussions and networking
  • Time for rest and recovery

About the organizer: 

Foundation 2402 (Daily Humanity) is a non-profit organization that develops safety culture in Ukraine through training for media professionals, managers, documentarians, civic activists, and humanitarian workers. The initiative was launched at the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
