Daily Humanity Presents Drone Detection Lending Library in Kyiv: How to Get Free Protection on the Frontline

On April 7 in Kyiv, the Daily Humanity team officially launched the Drone Detection Lending Library—an innovative system offering free rental of drone detectors and personal protective equipment for those working in high-risk zones.

The presentation brought together representatives of Ukrainian and international media, humanitarian missions, and volunteer organizations. The project’s primary goal is to provide frontline professionals with critical equipment without unnecessary bureaucracy or financial burden.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Working in modern warfare conditions requires not only ballistic protection but also high situational awareness. Drone detectors have become a necessity for survival, yet their cost and the complexity of the procurement process remain obstacles for many independent reporters and small NGOs.

“Drones have changed the nature of war and increased the risks for everyone near the frontline. These threats cannot be ignored because drones hunt people and attack very quickly. Our rental service reduces the financial barrier for journalists and NGOs to access life-saving technology,” emphasized Katerina Sergatskova, Executive Director of Daily Humanity.

HOW DOES THE SYSTEM WORK?

Daily Humanity has implemented a fully autonomous digital process:

  • Online verification (KYC): Quick confirmation of identity and the purpose of the trip.
  • Electronic document management: Signing the lending agreement in 1 minute via the “Vchasno” service or DocuSign.
  • Autonomous logistics: Receiving equipment through a convenient delivery system.

At the project’s launch, the Library features 40 active drone detectors, which allows ensuring the safety of 40 field teams simultaneously. Infrastructure costs for managing the system are already fully covered until the end of 2026 thanks to early donors. The technological partners of the initiative are Gnizdo LTD and Drone Spices, the manufacturer of “Tsukorok” detectors and other devices.

“The highest value is human life. And if technologies give us the opportunity to save it, we are obliged to use them and help others do the same,” noted veteran and founder of GNZDO Ltd, Dmytro Frolov.

During the presentation, Daily Humanity also handed over 10 drone detectors to the Suspilne Broadcasting team.

“Our journalists regularly work in frontline regions, travel to combat zones, and work under shelling and constant threat from the air. This means that the issue of safety for us is not a formality, but a daily operational reality,” said Anastasiia Isaienkova, Producer at Suspilne News.

HOW TO JOIN THE INITIATIVE?

Since logistics and management are already funded, 100% of new donations go directly toward purchasing new equipment. You can support the project and protect more lives at the following link: https://2402.org/campaign/

If you are planning a trip to a combat zone and need protection, please familiarize yourself with the rental rules and apply on the Lending Library page.
